Old penny-in-the-slot, working models, novelty games, and penny arcade machines from the piers and penny arcades of the British seaside. models like The Beauty Parade and The Haunted Grange.
This unique collection houses machines from the early 1900s to 1960. The many models include the famous Laughing Sailor, The Haunted Churchyard and The English Executioner.
The collection is supplemented with nostalgic, coin operated machines such as What The Butler Saw, allwins, fortune tellers and other novelty games.
They are all operated with the old English penny that stopped circulation in 1971, hence the name “Penny Arcade”. These are readily available to buy at the Heritage Centre, so the machines can be played and enjoyed by all.
