Rye has a long and illustrious history as a centre for pottery, and our gift shop is the only outlet in Rye where you can order hand crafted plaques and plates from the renowned Romney Marsh Ceramics. The company is run by Beverley Gray who was born in the historic town of Rye and she now lives with her family in the nearby village of Appledore. Beverley was trained in the art of ceramic design by David Sharp, a hugely talented artist and potter. Beverley also spent many years at the famous Rye Pottery, hand painting pottery and tiles. All plaques and plates are individually painted by hand. Choose from a standard or bespoke design.
We also stock an exclusive range from James Dean Pottery, based just outside Rye in Peasmarsh. Choose from a selection of mugs, jugs and miniature ceramic fridge magnets all featuring the distinctive 14th century Baron’s Seal of Rye.

Rye has long inspired artists, and we continue to showcase local artists’ work at competitive prices. We have a selection of prints, postcards and greetings cards from a roster of artists based in the 1066 area, including Michael Preston, Tracey Brown and Paul Raynor. Prints are available mounted only, or framed ready to hang.
