Haunted Walks of Rye

A unique opportunity to explore the ancient streets of Rye after dark with the official Town Crier

Hear tales of historical dark deeds and murder, ghostly sightings, haunted buildings and unexplained phenomenon

Walks include exclusive access to the interior of the 18th century Town Hall and Attic, where the genuine skull and gibbet cage of the infamous Rye murderer John Breeds are still kept…

Meet at RYE HERITAGE CENTRE and play in our Spooky Old Pier Penny Arcade, watch the ‘Story of Rye’ Town Model Sound and Light show, then head out to explore the dark and mysterious streets…

Walks last approximately 2-2.5 hours. Start times vary to coincide with dusk, so please check carefully for the start time of your selected walk

Suitable for ages 11 and over. Walks take place regardless of weather, so please dress appropriately. Pre-booking essential as places are limited. Due to limited availability, refunds are not available.
Town Hall and Attic visits are subject to  Town Hall availability. Attic access is via a narrow staircase that may not be suitable for the mobility impaired. Please contact us before booking for further information.
Private Ghost Walks are available for groups of 10 or more, please contact us for further details
