Broadcaster and journalist John Sergeant visited The Heritage Centre today, 15th September 2011, to film the Rye Town Model as part of a new series,’ Britains First Photo Album’, to be aired on BBC 2 commencing 12th March 2012 at 6:30pm. The series runs over a two week period. So watch out for Rye which will be broadcast on Wednesday 14th March.

We are delighted to be able to announce the 2017 season Historic Guided walk dates.

A unique opportunity to tour the town of Rye with local historian David Hopkins.

The story of a seafaring port & town: Tudor boom, bust and plague, 18th- century smuggling & much more…..

Meet at Rye Heritage Centre at 11.00. Your tour starts with a viewing of our ‘Story of Rye’ Town Model sound and light show.

Following the show you will be met by David Hopkins, who will take you to explore Rye and reveal in more depth the fascinating                                            history of our town.

Saturday 30th September

 

Tours last approximately 2 hours, and tickets are priced at £10 per adult/£7.50 per child.
